Dear CCA Parents:

Cornerstone Christian Academy’s Board of Trustees thanks you for the trust you place in us and the staff at CCA. We consider training students who will impact the world for God’s glory as serious, shared responsibility. Our desire is to help support families in this mission while focusing on it daily at school.

As Board members, we have been called to steward CCA’s resources through wise fiscal practices. For many years, parents who sought a Christian education for their children had to shoulder the full financial responsibility of tuition themselves. Thankfully this is no longer the case. The State of Ohio recently leveled the playing field by allowing the shared use of tax revenues for private education, which were previously only available to public institutions.

CCA’s tuition rates have historically been less than other area private schools, despite the low student-teacher ratios in our classrooms. In order to provide a quality education at affordable tuition rates, we relied on the hard work and devotion of our staff. CCA’s teachers and staff have historically gone beyond their basic responsibilities, sacrificially serving their students to support the ministry of Cornerstone. Meanwhile, on average, they earned salaries that were as much as 40% below the State of Ohio average. Our athletic coaches have also served with substandard, or in some cases no, compensation. In education as in life, we all face rising expenses. Providing competitive salaries to CCA’s faculty and staff is one of the Board’s priorities. Safety and transportation are other important concerns. Important updates in these areas have been made in the last year, and they will continue to be evaluated.

Please know CCA’s Board of Trustees is determined to balance parents’ budgetary concerns with the rising cost of a Christ-centered education. We seek God’s wisdom and discernment as we consider both.
